By Michael Johnson, Editor

Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Superintendent and Secondary Principal Brandt Dick has agreed to sign a two-year contract to fill the half-time superintendent position in the Underwood School District starting for the 2011-12 school year. The Underwood School Board will meet during their regular meeting April 20 to approve or disprove of the hire. He would replace retiring Supt. Dale Ekstrom. Dick, 40, visited with the board’s personnel committee on March 31 to finalize the contract and talk further about his plans in the school. The contract agreed upon is a half-time position, which means Dick will spend three days in H-M-B then two days in Underwood and then three days in Underwood the next week and so forth. His base salary agreed upon was $40,000. On top of that is half of his administrative dues, half health insurance, TFFR, a travel allowance of $5,500, vacation and cell phone for a total of about $63,900.
