Look for some Gatsby-inspired suits and dresses this Saturday as Turtle Lake-Mercer celebrates the Roaring 20s at this year’s prom Saturday night at the Ed Rath Auditorium in Turtle Lake. The grand march is set to start at 7 p.m.
Twenty-three couples are anticipated to attend the event, which features a Roaring 20s theme, organized by the junior class, the Class of 2020.
The 7 p.m. grand march will be the official start of the prom, which will be followed by the first dance of the couples, and then a dance for the students and their parents.
“It’s something different this year,” said Kara Smalls, prom adviser.
Following the prom, the students will be going to an after-prom party in Minot at the Putt District for some miniature golf and other activities.
Those attending the after-prom party will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, noted, Small, including fridges, computers, printers and “Alexas.”
Smalls is excited for this Saturday’s event, noting that this is the most couples that have attended in several years.
