The Underwood Emergency Services Department will be holding an Emergency Medical Technician course starting in January.

Although all of the details are not set yet, Underwood Ambulance Department Chief Corey Neff says the department will be holding an EMT course in Underwood January through May, holding class one to two nights per week, plus one weekend a month.

"We’ve got three or four people in town that are going to take it," said Neff.

Folks from surrounding communities are invited to take the class as well, noted Neff, as several cities in the area are in need of more emergency services personnel.

Anyone taking the class and signing up to be a volunteer on the Underwood department will have his or her class fee reimbursed by the department, said Neff.
