Washburn farmer sentenced for Crop Insurance Fraud

In a significant legal development, United States Attorney Mac Schneider announced that Kent Pfaff, a 60-year-old farmer from Washburn, has been sentenced to pay $379,317 in restitution and serve three years of supervised release for committing crop insurance fraud. 
The sentencing took place on March 26, 2024, by U.S. District Court Judge Daniel L. Hovland, following Pfaff’s guilty plea on December 20, 2023.
