Boys give Miners a good run

By Mary Hefta, BHG News Service

The Underwood Comets boys basketball team continues to excite their fans with quick play and great hustle. Last Thursday night was no exception as the Comets hosted the Wilton-Wing Miners in district play. The Comets came out blazing hot, getting points from three of the senior starters. Matt Landenberger garnered six points (he totaled 37 for the night) in the first quarter while Nick Lee tossed in a two point shot. Dillon Aldinger also added a bucket in the first quarter.  Wilton scored just three baskets in the first period of play. Senior leadership kept the Comets in the lead in the first half.  Landenberger added five more points as well as an assist to junior Jeremy Wirtz at the 2:22 mark.  Lee put a couple notches in his assist column as well as he had some nifty passes to both Aldinger and Wirtz. Junior Brendan Reinbold also dropped two free throws from the charity stripe in the second quarter.
