Central McLean Cougars maul Braves

By Don Winter, BHG News Service

There’s nothing better than lining up under the Friday night lights on homecoming, and for the Cougars of Central McLean they were going to make sure that this opportunity, on what has been a special season to this point, didn’t pass them by. Determined to show Parshall why they are ranked as the  number three team in the state nine-man polls, the Cougars would feed off the energy of the crowd to strike early and often. Running the ball at will on an overwhelmed Braves squad, the Cats clawed down the field in the first quarter, with Nick Lee finding pay dirt first from two yards out. Dylan Ruff carried the ball across the line on the conversion and the Cougars led 8-0. Up next for the Cougar juggernaut was Aaron Morman who scored on a 24-yard scamper. However a Matt Landenberger pass went wide of its intended target, leaving the score at 14-0, where it sat for the rest of the quarter.
