Central McLean shuts out Heart River
The Central McLean Cougars put together one of their most dominant performances of the season Sept. 12, when they blanked Heart River 42-0 at Underwood High School.
The win improved the Cougars’ overall record to 3-1 and lifted their Region 4 mark to 2-1, keeping them firmly in the hunt in a competitive field.
From the opening kickoff, Central McLean imposed its will. The Cougars’ defense smothered Heart River’s offense, never allowing them to find rhythm or sustain a drive. Central McLean clogged running lanes, pressured the quarterback into hurried throws, and forced multiple three-and-outs. By the final whistle, Heart River had been completely shut down, with the Cougars pitching their second shutout of the season.
