Central McLean splits week
The Central McLean Cougars volleyball team continued its strong campaign through Region 4 and District 8 play last week, earning a dominant sweep at home before running into the region’s top team on the road.
The Cougars opened the week with a convincing 3-0 victory over Center-Stanton on October 7 in Underwood, showcasing balance across all phases of the game.
Central McLean controlled tempo from the first serve, using sharp passing and effective attacks to keep the Wildcats on their heels throughout the night.
The win improved the Cougars’ district mark to 7-0 and further solidified their standing near the top of Region 4.
Just two nights later, Central McLean faced perhaps their toughest challenge of the season with a trip to Flasher to take on the first-place Bulldogs.
Despite stretches of competitive play, the Cougars couldn’t overcome Flasher’s depth and consistent hitting, ultimately falling 3-0.
