Central McLean teams earn strong finishes at home invitational

The Central McLean Cougars cross country program put together a strong showing at their home meet, the Central McLean Invitational, held Sept. 30, at Westridge Golf Course.
In the varsity boys’ 5,000-meter race, Central McLean missed the leaderboard, finishing short of the racer numbers to qualify.
Senior Levi Repnow led the way for the Cougars, posting a strong time of 21 minutes, 22.13 seconds to finish eighth overall out of 41 runners.
Repnow’s steady performance helped anchor Central McLean’s scoring and provided a reliable pace for the younger runners to follow.
Freshman Gage Ellis added valuable points by placing 21st in 24:21.88, while eighth-grader Thad Voth completed the Cougars’ lineup with a 34th-place finish at 27:22.77.
Though running with a smaller roster than some of the other schools, the Cougars’ boys demonstrated impressive teamwork and consistency.
Their ability to compete tightly with larger programs reflected both their endurance and focus as they head toward the championship stretch of the season.
Central McLean’s girls roster once again showed steady improvement and determination, placing multiple runners in the top half of the field.
