The Comet boys split on the hard court this week, winning the game that matters in the District 10 numbers game by knocking off the home-standing Center-Stanton Wildcats 74-35. Other action saw Linton-HMB by the score of 57-34 in non-district action.
Parker Christenson honed in on the hoop from everywhere in the Comets’ win over Center as the 6-3 sophomore tossed in 28 points for Underwood.
“He did a lot of nice things – not just down underneath, he made some outside shots for us, too,” credited Comet Head Coach Alex Jangula.
“And Karsen Blotske did a lot of nice things for us defensively,” he added. “He plays hard. He plays good defense and he had some nice touches.”
Blotske  scored six points for the night, while Travis Reinbold was good for 13, and Kayde Hornberber and Ty Snyder were good for 11 each.
The Comets and Lions had a pretty similar game plan going in, noted Jangula, who is a Linton alum. The Lions just put things together a little better that night.
