CM girls continue strong play
The Central McLean Cougars girls basketball team returned to action following the holiday break with a demanding stretch of games that tested depth, resilience, and focus, finishing the run with two convincing neutral-site wins before dropping a road contest to a top district opponent.
Central McLean opened post-break play. 29, at Bismarck State College with a decisive 66–38 victory over Harvey-Wells County.
The Cougars set the tone early with strong defensive pressure and efficient scoring, building separation in the first half and never allowing momentum to swing back the other way.
Central McLean controlled the pace throughout, forcing turnovers and turning stops into points while limiting Harvey-Wells County’s clean looks at the basket.
The Cougars remained at Bismarck State College the following night, Tuesday, Jan. 30, and delivered another strong performance, edging Kenmare-Bowbells 70–65 in a more competitive matchup.
Unlike the previous night’s contest, the game featured several momentum swings, with Kenmare-Bowbells answering nearly every Central McLean run.
