CM XC Closes puts up competitive showing at West Region Championships
The Central McLean Cougars continued their 2025 cross country campaign with determined efforts at the NDHSAA Class B West Region Championships held Saturday, October 11, at Black Sands Golf Course.
Competing against nearly 30 schools and over 300 runners combined between boys and girls divisions, the Cougars battled through tough terrain and a stacked field to post respectable results across all levels.
In a deep and talented 28-team boys’ field, Central McLean finished 21st overall with 558 points, ahead of Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock, Mandaree, Stanley, and several other regional programs.
Bowman County claimed the team title with a near-perfect 17 points, followed by New Town (75) and Shiloh Christian (142).
Senior Levi Repnow led the way for the Cougars, finishing 57th overall out of 177 runners with a solid time of 20:32.03.
His consistent pacing and strong closing stretch helped anchor the team’s effort in his final regional meet.
Ninth-grader Gage Ellis crossed the line 133rd in 23:21.41, showing steady improvement throughout the season, while eighth-grader Thad Voth capped the varsity scoring in 145th place at 24:27.47.
