Coble fans 13 as Titans top Scarlets 5-1
Behind a dominant complete-game performance on the mound from Cooper Coble, the Garrison Titans took down the Scarlets 5-1 in Legion baseball action July 7.
Coble struck out 13 batters, walked just one, and allowed no earned runs across seven innings of work, limiting the Scarlets to three hits in the road win.
The Titans got on the board early, plating a run in the top of the first inning.
Matt Jochim drew a walk and later scored to give Garrison a 1-0 edge.
After a quiet second inning, the Titans extended their lead in the third when Gaige Roberts delivered a two-RBI single, bringing home Jochim and Grady Crawford to make it 3-0.
Garrison added a fourth run in the fifth.
With Crawford reaching base and moving into scoring position, Brody Seidler grounded out to bring him in and give the Titans a 4-1 advantage.
Crawford finished the day 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.
In the sixth, the Titans pushed across their final run when Roberts singled and came around to score on a base hit by Ethan Butman.
Roberts led all hitters with a 2-for-4 outing and drove in two runs to help pace the offense.
Coble, meanwhile, remained locked in on the mound.
The only blemish against him came in the bottom of the fourth, when the Scarlets scored their lone run of the day.
