The Underwood Comet girls went 2-1 on the hard court after coming back from the holiday break, picking up both district and region wins.

The Comets traveled to Max Tuesday night, knocking off the Cossacks in District action by opening up the playing field by knocking down six treys. The Comets won by the score of 52-45.

"I’ve been happy with our inside/outside game," commented Underwood Coach Toni Cottingham. "The girls are starting to recognize more opportunities.

"We are getting the shots we want," she added. "We just need to focus on finishing the inside shots."

McKenna Wilson led the Comets in scoring with 17 points, netting a pair of three-pointers, while MacKenzie Snyder tossed in 14, also putting one down from long range.

The Cossacks had a potent offensive attack, making good on just shy of 58 percent for the game.
