Comet regular season comes to a close

By Mary Hefta

The Underwood Comet volleyball regular season has come to a close. By the time this issue of the Underwood News is published the Comets will have played their first two district tournament games in Turtle Lake. The Comets will have played the sixth-seeded Garrison Troopers in the first round on Monday night. If Underwood wins that match, the Comets will play the second-seeded Wilton Miners on Tuesday at 7:30, for a chance to play in the championship match on Thursday night. If the Comets end up in the loser-out bracket after Monday or Tuesday’s match, then they will play in matches that start at 4:30. It’s hard to even think about whom the Comets might be playing because volleyball is such a momentum sport. We have played Garrison four times this season and have won each match. (Two matches were in tournaments and two were regular season match-ups.)
