The Comet spikers found themselves having to bounce back from adversity this past week as they found themselves without the capable skills of Abby Landenberger, as the senior hitter found herself watching most of Thursday night’s Glenburn match from the bench after she suffered a high ankle sprain at the end of the first set.
After winning game one 25-13, the Comets fell the next three sets 25-14, 25-13 and 25-14 to fall 3-1.
The Comets found themselves having to make some adjustments to try fill in the gap left by Landenberger, with Madi Holm stepping in to fill in much of the playing time. Lindsey Duben also saw more opportunities to attack the ball on offense.
“Both girls did a great job in the front row,” commented Underwood coach Mary Hefta.
