The Underwood boys clinched the top seed in the upcoming District 10 basketball tournament by topping two more district opponents this week, narrowly topping Wilton-
Wing 48-44 Friday night after pummeling Max Tuesday by the score of 72-39.
The Comets limited the home-standing Cossacks to just 39 points in large part by giving the Cossacks only one shot attempt each possession, as the Comets outrebounded
Max 48-19. Senior post Kayden Hornberger led the attack both offensively and on the boards, pouring in 25 points while hauling down 18 boards. Underwood Coach Alex
Jangula credited the team’s “sharing the ball really well” for the win, noting that three players were in double digits, and eight scored as the Comets made good on 47 percent of their
shots from the field.
