The Troopers started out hot last Thursday night, jumping to a 24-9 lead the first stanza, holding off the Comets for a District 10 win on the hard court in Garrison.

Monday night, the visiting Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans and Comets battled to a 41-31 finish as the Comets fell in another district battle.

Underwood coach Steve Cottingham credited a fast offensive start by the Troopers for Thursday’s win.

"Garrison did a nice job of coming out really aggressively," he said. "They kind of got us back on our heels early. I think they hit 12 out of their first 14 shots the first quarter," he said.

Garrison’s Eddie White Bear led the Troopers with 14 points, while Underwood’s Nick Dammen led all scorers with 15 points.

"Nick had a nice night offensively for us with his 15 points, and he had 11 boards," said Cottingham.
