Comets fall in season opener

By Danielle Abbott, BHG News Service

The Underwood Comets hit the floor for their first game of the regular season. This home match was played against New Salem on Friday. Head coach Kyle Hunt said, "You just never know what to expect the first game of the year, until you get out and actually see the boys play." The Comets started off a bit snow, falling behind in the first quarter, 7-11. They battled through the first half, but were unable to secure the win, as New Salem stole the game with a 51-34 win. "I thought we came out and played hard, we had a couple bad runs, missed a few free throws and a few layups, and that turned out to be the difference," Hunt said.
