The Comets enter this week’s District 10 girls basketball as the number three seed, taking on Center-Stanton – the last District 10 opponent the Comets played, and defeated just last Tuesday.

The Comets outlasted the Wildcats by the score of 55-4, spurred on by the 24-point scoring effort from sophomore guard Mackenzie Snyder.

Snyder has been a scoring machine for the Comets of late, tossing in 28 points against South Prairie Thursday night in the Comets’ 55-41 win that capped their regular season.

Looking at this weekend’s tournament in Turtle Lake, Cottingham is focused on shoring up her team so they’ll be advancing to regionals later this month in Mandan.

"The girls are starting to play with a lot of confidence and are gelling as a team," said Cottingham.
