Comets top Holsteins for Region 5 victory

The Comets pulled off a big Region 5 win Oct. 6, knocking off New Salem-Almont by the score of 30. That upped their Region 5 record to 33, keeping them at the number eight spot in the region.
“This was a great team win for us,” commented Underwood Head Coach Jordyn Singer. “Our attack was balanced, and defense was great as well. The girls communicated and had good energy on the court. This was a step in the right direction for our team, and hopefully we can continue this momentum into the rest of our games.”
The attacks came in the form of a duo of sisters, the Jacobsons and Hornbergers. The Jacobson sisters, Lexie and Leah, combined for nine kills, while the Hornbergers, Taya and Ari, teamed up for eight kills. When they weren’t attacking themselves, Leah Jacobson and Taya Hornberger were feeding their teammates, tallying nine and seven assists, respectively.
