Underwood sophomore McKenzie Snyder had what her coach called a "breakout performance" during the Comets’ 3-2 win over the home-standing Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky in Class B high school volleyball action last Tuesday.

Snyder, who plays right front, tallied nine kills and two assists for the Comets.

The Comets came out strong in the first set winning 25-15, and the second 25-20.

Then the Trojans turned the tables, winning sets three and four by the scores of 26-24 and 25-23.

The Comets rallied to win the fifth set of the marathon match, edging the Trojans 15-13.

Junior hitter Brooke Weisenberger was a triple threat for the Comets, leading the way offensively at the net with 12 kills, tallying eight digs on defense, and making good on 90 percent of her serves.
