Comets win consolation championship in tourney

When the Comets played the Center-Stanton Wildcats last Tuesday in Center, the Wildcats got the win.  This time, the Comets took control of the game from the onset and beat the Wildcats for the McLean County Tournament Consolation Championship.  The Comets out rebounded the Wildcats 47-39 and were able to capitalize at the free throw line in better fashion as well.  The Underwood boys shot 61.9 percent from the free throw line which is much better than the previous games. Senior Matt Landenberger led all scorers with 15 points and nine rebounds. The senior also had two steals.  Junior Jeremy Wirtz add 13 points and four rebounds to his stats. Wirtz also had two assists and one steal.  Senior Nick Lee added eight points in the Comet win.  Lee also had eight rebounds, two steals and one assist.  Senior Dillon Aldinger tossed in six points and nabbed four rebounds in the victory.  Aaron Morman, a junior, brought in three points from the charity stripe, two rebounds and an assist.  Fellow junior Mitchell LeRoy added a basket, six rebounds and a blocked shot.
