Comets win two; struggling with turnovers

The Comet girls struggled to find a handle on the basketball this week as they repeatedly turned the ball over in their outings against Shiloh Christian and Hazen.
Against Shiloh, those turnovers turned into points for the Skyhawks, who turned back the Comets by the score of 41-30.
The Bison, however, weren’t able to turn the turnovers into points, and committed a fair share of their own as well in the low-scoring game. The Comets came out on top 29-20.
Both games were played in Underwood.
The split in the past week’s action puts the Comets’ record at 6-2, which Underwood Head Coach Gary Ballard thinks is pretty decent.
“I kind of get down that we’re not taking care of the ball and not shooting very well, but when you look at our record, I have to be happy with six wins,” said Ballard. “Hopefully we can continue to win more, and be in good games if we don’t win, and hopefully just keep improving.”
