Cougar golfers led by veterans

The Central McLean Cougars will be led by a trio of seniors, all looking to make their way to the state tournament May 26 in Jamestown.

Leading the way will be seniors Lindsey Duben, who qualified for state last year, Paige Weisenberger and Krista Blotske, all veteran golfers for the team.

"I’m looking for these three seniors to not only be good leaders and mentors to our more inexperienced golfers, but to also step up their games and return to the state tournament as a team.

Weisenberger, Duben and Blotske have all played in the state tournament as a team before, as has Chazlynn Sondrol, who is back on the team after a two-year break.

"I’m excited to have her and her experience back on the team; she is a nice addition," said Cottingham.

Duben was the lone Cougar to represent Central McLean at the state tournament last season.
