Cougar tracksters improving times

The Central McLean Cougar boys placed fifth at the Stutsman County Meet at Carrington last Tuesday as Aaron Morman jumped a season-best high jump of 5-10 to win the high jump competition.  Morman scored 17 points to pace the Cougars, as they finished the meet with 65 points.  Carrington won the meet with 194 points. Along with his first-place high jump, Morman also placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 12.3, and seventh in the javelin (distance not available). Dillon Aldinger also piled up some points for the Cougars, winning the discus with a toss of 130-3, and placing fourth in the shot put with a throw of 40-3-1/2.  Teammate Taylor Deseth added nine field events points by placing second in the discus with a throw of 121-3, and eighth in the shot with a toss of 37-11. In running events, Dylan Ruff scored on a pair of third-place finishes; one in the 200 and the other in the 400, to add 12 points.  Ruff finished the 200 with a time of 24.12, and the 400 with a time of 54.96. CM’s Josh Hanson came within four seconds of breaking the 11-minute mark in the 3200-meter run, winning his event with the time of 11:04.00.
