The Cougar’s Trap Shooting program is growing increasingly popular for area students. In two years, the program has doubled in size. Coach Josh Ruffo, who took the position in 2020, now oversees a 23-student program, from sixth-grade students to seniors.

The Cougar’s Trap Shooting team shoots every Wednesday and Sunday at the Wildlife Club. The competition aspect of the sport is unique: competitors don’t have to necessarily shoot at a certain time or day. The competitor only needs to complete the dedicated amount of “rounds” before judging. This allows for f lexibility, likely an enticing draw for busy students who want to participate but can’t commit to a rigid schedule.

The Cougar’s are showing progress and finishing with impressive scores, according to Ruffo.
