Cougars at 3-0 start

The Cougars kept their record unblemished Friday night, taking their first home-field win on the gridiron, turning back Richardton-Taylor-Hebron 16-14 in Underwood.
The win puts the Cougars at 3-0 in the early part of the season – nothing to sneeze at – but immediately after the win, Co-Coach Grant Singer was telling his team they can’t relax.
“Do not be satisfied,” he said. “Do not be satisfied.”
They could be happy with the win, but the competition isn’t going to get any easier as they head further into the 9-man season.
The Cougars hit the scoreboard first Friday night when senior wide receiver reeled in a pass from quarterback Trapper Jacobs for the 35-yard score. Jacobs followed up by scampering down the right side for the PAT conversion, putting the Cougars up 8-0 two minutes into the game.
The Raiders answered midway through the stanza with a score of their own, but they failed to score on the PAT.
