Cougars boys dominate 93-19 in opener
The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team wasted no time making a statement to open the 2024–25 season, cruising to a dominant 93–19 victory over Glenburn on Dec. 12 in a non-district road contest.
From the opening possession, Central McLean set the tempo with relentless defensive pressure and an up-tempo offensive approach that quickly put Glenburn on its heels.
“We have worked on pushing the ball offensively, so our fast break opportunities are there,” said Central McLean head coach Joi Anderson. “Additionally, we work on running a controlled offense when fast breaks aren’t available.”
The Cougars forced early turnovers, turned defense into transition scoring, and built a commanding lead within the opening minutes.
Central McLean’s intensity never wavered as the game progressed.
