Cougars boys set to tip off 2025 season

The winter hardwood season is nearly here, and the Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team is gearing up for what they hope will be a defining step forward under Head Coach Joi Anderson.
With preseason practices wrapping up and opening night just days away, Anderson and his roster are focused on establishing continuity, sharpening team identity, and navigating a competitive District 8 landscape that remains as deep as ever.
Central McLean begins its 2025 campaign on Thursday, December 12, when the Cougars travel north to face Glenburn at 7 p.m.
The road opener provides an immediate test for a squad eager to showcase early improvements after a full offseason in Anderson’s system.
The Cougars will then break briefly before returning to action on December 29, hosting Midway/Minto for their home opener.
While early-season matchups provide important benchmarks, Anderson knows the long game will determine how far his team can climb in one of the state’s most balanced districts.
