Cougars capture District Title
The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team continued its strong postseason run over the past week, capturing the District 8 championship before opening the Region 4 Tournament with a convincing victory.
Central McLean first took the floor on Tuesday, March 3 in the District 8 Tournament Championship against the Wilton Wing Miners.
The Cougars delivered a solid performance on both ends of the floor and secured the district crown with a 59 to 46 win.
The victory capped off an impressive district tournament run and gave Central McLean valuable momentum heading into regional play.
With the win, the Cougars entered the NDHSAA Class B Region 4 Tournament as the top seed out of District 8.
Central McLean returned to the court on Monday, March 9 to open regional tournament play against Beach in the first round.
The Cougars wasted little time establishing control, using strong defense and efficient offense to pull away for a 65 to 39 victory.
