Cougars edge Shiloh Christian in hard-fought battle

The Central McLean Cougars returned to their home field in Turtle Lake-Mercer on Sept. 26, and delivered a thrilling 20-14 victory over Shiloh Christian.
In a contest that was competitive from start to finish, the Cougars relied on resilience and timely plays to notch their latest win and improve their standing as the season enters its pivotal stretch.
Head Coach Grant Singer praised the effort but acknowledged that his squad still has plenty of room for growth.
“We got the win which was nice, but we have some areas to still work on,” Singer said following the game. “We need to come out with more energy and start faster than we did this last game. The team kept battling which was good.”
That battle was evident against Shiloh Christian, as the Cougars found themselves locked in a back-and-forth game where each possession mattered.
