Cougars fall to Carrington despite power at the plate

The Central McLean Cougars softball team took the field on Monday, April 14, in a non-region matchup against Carrington and showed flashes of offensive firepower, but ultimately came up short in a 14-7 loss.
The Cougars’ offense had several highlights, with three key players delivering extra-base hits.
Lily Bobbins sparked the lineup with a double, Emry Hunt legged out a triple, and Mya Kittler launched a home run, putting the home crowd on its feet and adding to her growing reputation as a power hitter.
Despite the offensive momentum, the Cougars struggled to contain Carrington’s bats throughout the contest.
Robin Fylling started in the circle, pitching two innings and allowing seven earned runs while recording two strikeouts.
Lindsay Abrahamson entered in relief and tossed five innings, also surrendering seven earned runs but adding four strikeouts to her stat line.
Though the final score favored Carrington, the Cougars are continuing to gain valuable in-game experience as they settle into the season.
