Central McLean Cougars volleyball team celebrated senior night by winning the third game in a row after defeating the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks 3-1 Thursday in Underwood.

“We knew this would be a big game for us and we needed to execute and keep the errors to a minimum,” said Cougars coach Whitney Jangula. “The girls knew what they needed to do, and they came through with high intensity and energy right away.”

The Cougars jumped out to a fast and furious start by scoring 10 straight points after the Skyhawks scored the first point. After catching a breather during a Shiloh timeout , the Skyhawks regrouped and made a small run at the lead but the closest they could get was at the 12-7 mark. The Cougars picked up the pace again to eventually lead again by 10 points by the 20-10 mark. Shiloh again called a timeout; however, the Cougars scored the next five points led by well-placed kills by Laura Eichhorst to win set one 25-10.
