Cougars get second conference win

By Mary Hefta

Despite cold and rainy conditions, the Central McLean Cougars were able to pick up their second conference win in Region 6 nine-man football last Friday night. The Cougar starters played the entire first half and scored all 32 points in those first two quarters. The Cougar reserves played the second half and held the Black Devils to 12 points in the last quarter. "We played well on a rainy night," praised co-head coach Keith Sundquist, "We had only one turnover and just one penalty." Co-head coach Kevin Dockter agreed. "Jordan (Sundquist) also threw the ball well and made some big plays that setup a couple of TDs. Grant (Singer) had another outstanding game," Dockter added, "We also played very well on defense." Senior quarterback Jordan Sundquist was three for six in passing with 84 yards total and one touchdown. Sundquist also ran three times for three yards and added a rushing touchdown to his stats. Senior running back Grant Singer had 15 carries for a total of 90 yards. Singer had two touchdowns on the night along with one PAT.
