Cougars girls continue hot streak

The Central McLean Cougars girls basketball team put together one of its strongest stretches of the season from January 6 through January 10, collecting three victories against quality Class B opponents and solidifying their position near the top of the Region 4 standings.
Central McLean opened the week against rival Garrison on Jan. 6, in Turtle Lake.
The matchup featured two disciplined defensive units and a playoff-style intensity that kept the score tight throughout the night.
The Cougars maintained composure late, converting key possessions in the fourth quarter to secure a 48 to 41 win.
Complete scoring details were not available before press time.
Two days later on Jan. 8, the Cougars returned to action to face Grant County Mott Regent.
After a competitive opening half, Central McLean took control of the third quarter, pushing tempo off defensive rebounds and turning transition chances into points.
The Cougars’ depth and pace wore down GCMR as the night progressed, resulting in a 64 to 50 victory.
Once again, individual scoring totals for the Cougars were unavailable by deadline.
