Cougars keep rolling with back-to-back district victories
The Central McLean Cougars volleyball team strengthened its position in District 8 with two more wins last week, extending their unbeaten record in district play and continuing to show steady improvement on the court.
On Sept. 23, the Cougars welcomed Mandaree and wasted no time setting the tone.
Central McLean’s front line controlled the pace of play, while strong serving and solid ball control kept the Warriors on their heels.
The Cougars’ balance across the lineup proved too much for Mandaree to handle, and Central McLean closed out the night with a clean 3-0 sweep.
Two nights later, the Cougars faced a tougher test on the road against Washburn.
The Cardinals made Central McLean earn every point, especially in the early sets.
After the Cougars secured the opening set, Washburn answered back in the second with aggressive hitting and scrappy defense, evening the match at one set apiece.
