Cougars overpower Cossacks in offensive surge at Turtle Lake

In a matchup that featured two teams at different points in their season trajectories, the Central McLean Cougars showcased a dominant performance at the plate and in the circle to defeat the Max-South Prairie Cossacks 23-2 in five innings May 12.
The early innings gave little indication of the route to come.
Max-South Prairie got on the board first in the opening frame thanks to a disciplined approach at the plate.
Brooklyn Mosser drew a walk and came around to score on an RBI single by Olivia Jansen, giving the Cossacks a brief 1-0 lead.
Central McLean answered in the bottom of the second with a run of their own, tying the game 1-1 after Mya Kittler delivered a timely RBI single.
The game remained close through the first two innings, but the third marked a dramatic turning point.
