Cougars push win streak to 11 with strong week
The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team continued its undefeated campaign with a pair of convincing victories last week, earning road and home wins over Glen Ullin-Hebron and White Shield to improve to 11-0 on the season and maintain their spot near the top of the highly competitive Region 4 landscape.
Central McLean opened the week on Thursday, Jan. 15, with a trip west to face the Glen Ullin-Hebron Bearcats.
In a matchup that featured a contrasting pace and tempo between the two sides, the Cougars gradually asserted control over the contest, leaning on disciplined defense and efficient execution in the half court.
While Glen Ullin-Hebron attempted to slow the game down and limit transition opportunities, Central McLean’s length and ball pressure made clean offensive sets difficult for the Bearcats.
The Cougars capitalized on turnovers and second-chance points throughout the night, steadily extending their lead in each quarter before closing out a 53-37 victory.
