Cougars run Ruff-shod over Wildcats

By Suzanne Werre, BHG News Service

The Central McLean Cougars played a lot of defense Friday night in their Homecoming game, probably more than they would have liked. But that’s what happens when you score on the first or second play from the line of scrimmage a lot – the other team gets the ball and you wind up playing a lot of defense. That was definitely the case for the Cougars as they trounced Center-Stanton Friday night in 9-man action on the gridiron, winning by the score of 50-12 at Turtle Lake. CM’s Dylan Ruff led the rampage with 193 yards on just seven carries for the night, averaging over 25 yards per carry, including three touchdowns, a 7-yarder, a 43-yarder and a 70-yarder. Ruff also added a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter, while teammate Nathan Rauhauser hauled in a 47-yard TD score on a pass from quarterback Aaron Morman to cap the Cougars’ scoring at 50 in the third quarter. “It was a good game. We got that fifth win, and that was huge for us,” commented Central McLean coach Kevin Dockter.
