Cougars stay perfect with decisive win over Garrison
The Central McLean Cougars boys basketball team continued its dominant run through the Division B Region 4 District 8 schedule Thursday night, defeating Garrison 63-42 to remain unbeaten on the season and further cement their hold atop the district standings.
Central McLean set the tone early, using balanced scoring and disciplined defense to build a steady advantage.
The Cougars led 14-9 after the opening quarter and never relinquished control, extending the margin to 27-20 at halftime before pulling away in the second half.
By the end of the third quarter, Central McLean had stretched its lead to 41-27, putting the game firmly out of reach.
The Cougars’ offensive production was spread throughout the lineup, a hallmark of their success all season.
Aiden Hanson led all scorers with 19 points, continuing his strong campaign as one of the team’s primary offensive threats. Jase Utley and Jonas Christensen each added 11 points, providing key support and helping maintain scoring pressure whenever Garrison attempted to rally.
Ethan Hanson contributed nine points, while Bridger Rittenbach chipped in eight and Ty Makeef added five to round out a well-balanced attack.
Central McLean’s ability to generate offense from multiple players has made them difficult for opponents to defend, as no single scorer carries the entire load.
