Cougars sweep New Salem-Almont
The Central McLean Cougars volleyball team continued their strong late-season push last week, earning a convincing home sweep over New Salem-Almont before battling to a draw against powerhouse Central Cass at the Des Lacs/Burlington Invitational.
The Cougars’ performance highlighted their continued growth and consistency as they look to climb the Region 4 standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Central McLean opened the week with a dominant 3-0 victory over the New Salem-Almont Holsteins on Wednesday, October 2.
The Cougars controlled the match from start to finish, showcasing steady serving, strong net play, and effective teamwork that kept New Salem-Almont on their heels throughout the evening. The win marked an important district victory, improving the Cougars’ District 8 record to 6-0.
The very next day, Central McLean turned around for an early start at the Des Lacs/Burlington Invitational, facing perennial contender Central Cass.
