Cougars Sweep Standing Rock
The Central McLean Cougars volleyball team is peaking at the right time. With back-to-back road victories, including a sweep and a gritty four-set win, the Cougars have built momentum heading into their final regular-season contest and the rapidly approaching district tournament.
On Tuesday, October 14, the Cougars traveled to Standing Rock Community for a road matchup and came away with a dominant 3-0 sweep.
Central McLean controlled the tempo from the opening serve, applying pressure with aggressive hitting and efficient serving runs. Their defense held strong, preventing Standing Rock from finding any rhythm.
The straight-set victory showcased the Cougars’ depth, ball control, and communication across rotations, key elements that have fueled their late-season surge.
Central McLean carried that confidence into their next road test on October 20, where they faced Drake-Anamoose in a competitive contest.
The Cougars came out strong and set the tone early, capturing the opening set with decisive play at the net. Drake-Anamoose responded in the second set, forcing longer rallies and capitalizing on Cougar miscues to even the match at 1-1.
