Cougars take on undefeated Troopers

While try they might, the Central McLean Cougars’ attempt to knock the Garrison Troopers off their undefeated streak was unsuccessful last Tuesday.
The competitive and dramatic match between neighboring teams at the Turtle Lake-Mercer High School ended with the Troopers taking victory in a close 66-62.
While the Troopers had a good start, scoring four points in the first minute and a half, the Cougars filled the void. Guards Reagan Kjelstrup and Ashtyn Smith quickly tied the score and then put nine more points on the board. Daisy Sparrow and Adlyn Eng took turns contributing buckets. Eng’s first was a three-pointer and her second, a two-point basket, six seconds before the buzzer rang.
