Cougars take Region 6 title

The Central McLean Cougars baseball team made CM baseball history by capturing the Class B Region 6 baseball title when the Cougars topped Minot Ryan 3-2 in a rain-delayed title game in Minot.

The Cougars will be making their state tournament premiere this Thursday at 11:30 a.m., taking on #2 seed, Carrington at Newman Field (NDSU) in Fargo.

While Cougar ace pitcher Hunter Jacobs gets the credit for the win in the stats, and head coach Alex Jangula agrees that Jacobs played a tremendous part in the win -- but Jangula says the win over the tough Minot Ryan team was a total team effort.

Taking the region title was a huge accomplishment, especially for such a young team, which sports three freshmen, Bo Weisenberger, Trapper Jacobs and Jacob Butler, on the infield.
