Experienced Cougars set sights on playoff return
The Central McLean Cougars are back on the practice field as preparations begin for the 2026 football season, with a solid group of returning players giving the team experience to build around.
Head Coach Grant Singer has liked what he has seen during the opening portion of preseason practice as players settle back into the routine of football.
“Things have looked good,” Singer said. “It’s always nice to get the kids all back and to get into a little bit of a rhythm.”
The early days of practice provide an opportunity for players to shake off the off-season rust while coaches begin putting the pieces together on both sides of the football. For Central McLean, that process comes with the benefit of having several experienced players returning to the roster.
“We have some good experience coming back and some good upperclassmen,” Singer said.
