Flasher’s Payton Gabrielson rained three-pointers down on the visiting Underwood Comets last Saturday night, pouring in 40 points as he led the Bulldogs to a 69-44 win over the Comets in Underwood’s season opener.

Underwood’s Parker Heger knocked down three treys of his own on his way to 17 points, which led the Comets.

The Comets and Bulldogs played neck-and-neck through the first stanza, but the second quarter Flasher switched gears, tossing in 31 points to take a 42-23 lead at the half.

"It wasn’t just the 40-point guy," pointed out Underwood coach Steve Cottingham. "He’s a good shooter, a good offensive player, but we did not do our best making him work to get his shots.
