Frohlich earns top-10 finish
The Central McLean Cougars competed in the 2026 boys golf postseason Tuesday at the Region 5/6 Tournament held at Bully Pulpit Golf Course, with junior Blake Frohlich leading the way against one of the strongest fields assembled this season.
Competing against 24 full teams and 142 individual golfers, the Cougars finished 22nd in the team standings with a score of 417, while Frohlich turned in an impressive top-10 individual finish to cap off a strong junior campaign.
Bowman County claimed the regional championship with a team score of 324, finishing 12 strokes over par.
Shiloh Christian placed second at 329, while Heart River and Dickinson Trinity tied for third with identical scores of 330.
Stanley rounded out the top five at 343.
Southern McLean finished eighth overall with a score of 350, while Garrison placed 10th at 368.
For Central McLean, Frohlich continued to be the team’s standout performer throughout the season.
The junior carded an 81, nine strokes over par, to finish eighth overall among the 142 golfers competing at the regional tournament.
Playing on one of North Dakota’s premier golf courses, Frohlich demonstrated consistency throughout his round, keeping himself in contention against many of the state’s top golfers.
