Holsteins stop Trojans

The Trojans slipped to 1-4 in region play, and 5-12 overall, after they were defeated by the New Salem/Almont Holsteins on the Trojans’ home court Thursday night. The Holsteins raised their record to 2-4 in region play and 7-17 overall.
 Center/Stanton and Flasher are at the top of the Region 5 standing with 6-0 records.
Leaders for the Trojans were Morgan Reiser with 7 kills, Kassidee Logsdon with 21 digs, and Madison Boehm with 15 assists.
Brooke Kunz led the Holsteins with 15 kills. Jacklyn Pazdernik had 12 assists, and Fayth Hoger 11 digs for the Holsteins.
The first set saw the Holsteins take a 6-1 lead. The Trojans battled back and with an ace from Shauntaye Kopecky and a kill from Madison Boehm. The Trojans closed the gap to 9-7 and an ace from Mackinzie Holt tied the set at 9.
The Holstein went up 19-12 after a couple of errors on the Trojans. Two missed kills and a serve into the net by the Holsteins cut the lead to 19-15.
