Lady Comets tally three district wins

By Brenda L. Shelkey, BHG News Service

The Lady Comets have added three more wins in the last week and a half. After a three week break since Christmas the Comets took on the Flasher Bulldogs, the Turtle Lake-Mercer Trojans and the Sheridan County Coyotes and came out the winner in all three. Head Coach Toni Cottingham talked about the Flasher game, saying, "Due to the Christmas break, this was our first game in three weeks. I felt like it took the girls an entire half before we started to settle down and play solid defense. Offensively, I felt like we moved the ball well and took some great shots. "I thought we had some girls play well: Samantha had a solid all-around game for us – she scored 11 points and had seven rebounds. Kayla had a great offensive game for us with 13 points, seven assists, and three steals. Crystal poured in 18 points, had nine rebounds and five assists. Lexi pulled in 11 rebounds and Alix nine." Ahead from the start, the Comets claimed the first post-Christmas victory against Flasher 59-39. The Lady Comets did well against the Turtle Lake-Mercer Trojans on Friday winning 55-49.
